Role of the Committee

The purpose and responsibility of the Charter Commission is to:

  • The Charter Commission reviews and recommends modifications to the City's Charter, and sets the salaries of the City Council.

Overview

  • Normal meeting day/time: Meetings are scheduled by Charter Commission as needed. Typically in early February, May and/or October.
  • Expected time commitment: 2-3 meetings, typically one hour or less. Less than 1 hour of prep per meeting.
  • Length of Appointment: 4 Years
  • Committee Seats Available: 1
  • Priority by Ward: Equal ward representation is preferred when feasible.
  • Role of Committee: Review and recommend modifications to the City's Charter. Set the salaries of the City Council.
