Environmental Events

West St. Paul recognizes many environmental events throughout the year.

Arbor Day

West St. Paul has been a designated Tree City for 19 years and counting. Each year, to celebrate this status, West St. Paul plants a tree at an identified location within the city, and holds an event to promote this occasion.

World Migratory Bird Day

West St. Paul is working on its Bird City designation, with the members of the Environmental Committee making up the Bird City advisory committee.

Wyland Mayor’s Water Conservation Challenge

A friendly competition between cities across the US, residents make a pledge to take action to conserve water, and the city with the highest percentage of residents signing up in each population category will be eligible to receive one of many prizes, including a 2022 Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV.

Mayor’s Monarch Pledge

The Mayor’s Monarch Pledge is our city’s pledge to engage with the community (developers, planners, landscape architects, etc.) to identify opportunities to create monarch habitats. The city will also issue a proclamation to raise awareness about the decline of the monarch butterfly population, and will plant a demonstration garden at the art park and at Marthaler Park.
