2017 Street Improvement – Project #17-1

The West St. Paul City Council recently awarded the construction work on this year’s Street Improvements Project to Palda & Sons Construction, Inc. out of St. Paul. 

It is our intention to keep the neighborhood informed on this project as much as possible. To that end, the City will be creating a weekly update that will be posted here by Friday afternoon each week. 

What to expect for week of August 21st


Fox Ridge Court
All scheduled work has already been completed.

Bidwell Street
All scheduled work has already been completed.

Runge Lane
All scheduled work has already been completed.

Humboldt Ave
Resident will be able to get back into their driveways on Monday, August 21st.  The contractor will begin final grading on Thursday and Friday August 24th and 25th. The first layer of bituminous asphalt is scheduled to be laid during the week of August 28th. The electrical contractor will also begin installing the electrical components for the new street lights.

Kraft Road
Resident will be able to get back into their driveways on Monday, August 21st.  The contractor will begin final grading on Thursday and Friday August 24th and 25th. The first layer of bituminous asphalt is scheduled to be laid during the week of August 28th. The electrical contractor will also begin installing the electrical components for the new street lights.

Edith Drive
Residents will be able to get back into driveways Sunday, August 20th.  The contractor will be onsite Sunday to remove the caution tape that surrounds each driveway.  Residents will need to have their vehicle off the street Monday and Tuesday morning by 7 AM to allow the contractor room to complete final grading on Monday and Tuesday August 21st and 22nd. The first lift of bituminous asphalt is scheduled to be laid Thursday, August 25th.

Charlton Street
Residents are asked to be mindful of the extra construction activity that will be occurring on Charlton St. for the remainder of the project. Work on Charlton St. is tentatively started to begin around Labor Day.

Sherwood Court
Removals and installing watermain and storm sewer will continue the entire week of August 21st thru August 25th.

Edgewood Lane
Removals and installing watermain and storm sewer will continue the entire week of August 21st thru August 25th. Residents may be asked to vacate their driveways in order to accommodate certain construction activities.  If needed, residents will notified the day prior.
