2017 Street Improvement – Project #17-1

The West St. Paul City Council recently awarded the construction work on this year’s Street Improvements Project to Palda & Sons Construction, Inc. out of St. Paul.  The contractor plans to start construction the week of April 3, 2017 (weather dependent).

As a reminder, City right-of-way extends approximately 11 feet behind the back of the curb. The right-of-way will be impacted during construction for curb replacement and utility work (gas, fiber optics, etc.). The City is not responsible for damage to private facilities located within the right-of-way such as invisible fences, underground sprinkler systems or landscaping.

Prior to construction starting, existing banks of mailboxes will be moved out to Livingston Avenue. We have coordinated this with the Post Office and apologize for the inconvenience.

Allowable work hours for the contractor are 7am-7pm Monday thru Friday and 8am-5pm on Saturday. At this time there is no work scheduled for Saturdays. Please make sure cars are not parked on the street during these work hours.

It is our intention to keep the neighborhood informed on this project as much as possible. To that end, the City will be creating a weekly update that will be posted here by Friday afternoon each week.
